Direct Care Professional/Para-Professional
Description: Provides daily supervision, support, and therapeutic assistance to adolescents residing in the Level III Residential Group Home. Promotes safety, structure, positive behavior, and skill development by implementing individualized treatment plans, providing guidance with daily living activities, and supporting residents in developing healthy coping and social skills. The Direct Care Professional also maintains accurate documentation, communicates observations to the treatment team, and serves as a positive role model while maintaining a safe, trauma-informed, and supportive residential environment.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Must pass background checks and hold a valid NC driver’s license.
Experience working with adolescents in behavioral health, residential care, education, or human services preferred.
Ability to provide direct supervision and maintain a safe, structured environment.
Ability to implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under appropriate supervision.
Ability to document daily activities, behaviors, incidents, and resident progress accurately.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
Completion of required orientation, safety, crisis intervention, CPR/First Aid, and other agency-required training.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or overnight shifts as required.
Successful completion of required background checks and other pre-employment screening.
Associate Professional
Description:Provides direct support and supervision to adolescents in the Level III Residential Group Home, helping maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. Assists with implementing individualized treatment plans, developing daily living and coping skills, facilitating positive behaviors and relationships, and supporting residents in achieving treatment goals. The Associate Professional also documents resident progress, communicates relevant observations to the treatment team, and serves as a positive, consistent role model.
Requirements:
Master’s degree with 1+ year full-time experience, Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with 2+ years full-time experience, Bachelor’s degree in another field with 4+ years full-time experience, or Registered Nurse with 4+ years full-time experience.
Relevant experience working with adolescents experiencing behavioral, emotional, or mental-health challenges required.
Must pass background checks and hold a valid NC driver’s license.
Knowledge of adolescent development, behavioral management, trauma-informed care, and positive behavioral interventions.
Ability to assist with implementing and monitoring individualized treatment plans.
Ability to recognize changes in behavior, identify potential safety concerns, and communicate significant observations to clinical and supervisory staff.
Strong documentation, communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
Completion of required orientation, crisis intervention, CPR/First Aid, and other agency-required training.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and appropriate therapeutic relationships.
Successful completion of required background checks and other pre-employment screening.
